With Mobile World Congress 2013 starting in just a few days, the world will be looking towards the release of new technologies, devices, and applications by conference exhibitors, and while undeniably some will present their products at keynotes, Vizzuality has taken this opportunity to release a few key updates to CartoDB, fueling further disruption in the space through hands on examples and demos.

Updated today with a set of new features that include additional ways to join tables, and handle new methods to edit data directly from the dashboard’s map view; this new functionality permits users to create ever more complex maps and data visualizations without needing to use code-editing tools. Special attention has been given to real time and time based visualizations that can explain trends over time.

And speaking of data visualization, the company’s recent Meteor map, pictured above, has gone viral, being featured in The Guardian, The Verge, Gizmodo, Forbes, the Huffington Post, and others.
